This garden trail covers the whole of Buxton. The diversity of the gardens is immense because we have two very different types of soil, we garden at a high altitude for this country and have an exceptional gardening community. We have experts in propagation, wildlife gardening, flower gardening, shrub and woodland gardening, community gardening all surrounding a Paxton designed Park.
The initial aim has always been to encourage people into the outdoor gardening world . Hence we follow the lead of The Open Gardens Directory in keeping the weekend entry price at £5 per adult.
We encourage you to come to Buxton, enjoy the gardens and enjoy conversation with the many lovely people you will find in those gardens, as well as the tea, coffee, cake and plants for sale. After the event, we will be donating to:
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team This organisation was set up sixty years ago to “Save life and alleviate distress in the UK by providing a volunteer-based search and rescue team, working alongside the police and other emergency services” Originally set up to help people in difficulty on remote areas, over time this has expanded into other types of searches and locations.
Air Ambulance Derbyshire Since starting this services in 2003, air ambulance now flies two local air ambulances services, serving a total of five counties including Derbyshire. The critical care paramedics attend an average of ten rescue missions a day and within minutes, they can be on the ground delivering lifesaving care The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery.
