What is the Buxton Garden Trail? What can I expect?
The Buxton Garden Trail is an annual event where private homes in Buxton open their gardens to be viewed and enjoyed by the public in aid of a charitable cause. Funds are raised through the sale of access wristbands, in additional to individual homes selling refreshments, plants and other items.
The Buxton Garden Trail offers a unique opportunity to view the private gardens of some of Buxton’s finest gardeners. You can expect to see a wide variety of gardens ranging in shape, size, scope and design.

Homes participating in the Buxton Garden Trail are located all over Buxton. A map of the participating homes is included with a wristband sale.

Is there a set route?
You can enjoy as many or as few homes as you like, there is no set route.

When does the Buxton Garden Trail take place?
The 2023 event is on Saturday and Sunday June 24th and 25th. The trail opens at 10:30 and closes at 4:30 on each day.

How busy can I expect the Garden Trail to be?
This can depend on many factors, however some of the most popular homes in previous years attracted hundreds of visitors.

Government guidelines will be followed, individuals are welcome to wear masks.

Yes, rain or shine the garden trail will be going ahead.

Where can I buy tickets?
Maps and entry wristbands will be available at The Pump Room Visitors Centre, Poole’s Cavern Visitors Centre and The Green Man Gallery from Tuesday 6th June. You can purchase tickets in advance or on the day. Participating gardens will also some tickets available to purchase.

Are there toilets?
Yes, some of the homes will provide toilet facilities, please refer to the map.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, some of the homes will allow well-behaved dogs on leads, please refer to the map. Please note that some homes may have chickens or other pets, if you are unable to control your dog or your dog is likely to be disruptive please leave your dog at home.

Yes children are welcome and encouraged to join in. There are plans to include an interactive children’s activity, please enquire when you pick up your wristband.

Each wristband costs £5 and all proceeds go to the named charities.
